Rooms & Staying

What time is check-in at Hatton Court Hotel?
- Check-in is available from 3:00pm on the day of arrival, giving our housekeeping team time to prepare every room to the highest standard. If you expect to arrive later in the evening, simply let our Reception team know and we'll be happy to accommodate you.
What time is check-out?

Check-out is by 11:00am on the day of departure. If you require a later departure, please speak to Reception before your stay. Subject to availability, we'll always do our best to accommodate your request.
Can I arrive before check-in?

Yes. You're welcome to arrive before your room is ready. Our team can often store your luggage while you enjoy lunch in the restaurant, relax with a coffee or head out to explore Gloucester and the surrounding countryside.
Can I request a late check-out?

Late check-out may be available depending on occupancy. Please contact Reception before your arrival or enquire during your stay and we'll do our best to help. There may be a small charge for late check-outs.
What room types are available at Hatton Court Hotel?

Hatton Court offers a range of beautifully appointed bedrooms, from cosy doubles and spacious king rooms to elegant Heritage Rooms and luxurious Feature Rooms. Every room has its own character, allowing you to choose the style and space that best suits your stay. We have 5 room types available, Cosy, Comfy, Country, Heritage and The Cotswold Suite. Are all of your bedrooms the same?

No. As a traditional country house hotel, every bedroom is unique. Room sizes, layouts and features vary, giving each stay its own individual charm while maintaining the same high standards of comfort throughout the hotel.
Which room should I choose?

Our Reception team will be happy to recommend the best room based on your plans. Whether you're looking for a romantic break, extra space, countryside views or a family-friendly room, we'll help you find the perfect option.
Do any rooms have countryside views?

Yes. Many of our bedrooms overlook the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside and the Severn Vale, offering peaceful views that make your stay even more memorable. As not all of our rooms have this feature please contact us directly to request a room with a view.
What is the Cotswold Suite?

The Cotswold or Feature Suite is our Four-Poster suite located in the main house of the hotel. It features plenty of space, a seating area, a free-standing roll-top in room bath, stunning views and all of our normal amenities to make your stay extra special.
Do you have family rooms?

We do not have standard family rooms with additional beds, however our larger rooms (Country, Heritage and Cotswold) are large enought to accomodate additional pull out beds and travel cots. Please note out additional beds are charged at £15 per night, please let us know you require one at time of booking.
Do you have twin rooms?

Yes. Selected bedrooms can be configured as twin rooms. Please let us know your preferred bed configuration when booking and we'll do our best to accommodate your request.
Are travel cots avaialble?

Yes. Travel cots are available on request, subject to availability. Please let us know before you arrive so everything is ready for your family's stay.
Are extra beds available?

Some of our larger bedrooms can accommodate additional beds. Please contact our Reception team before booking so we can recommend the most suitable room for your requirements. Extra beds are limited and are charged at £15 per night.
What facilities are included in the bedroom?

Every bedroom includes complimentary Wi-Fi, a television, tea and coffee making facilities, a hairdryer, en-suite bathroom, toiletries and everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. All rooms have access to a mini fridge and mini bar. Price lists will be in your room and refills are available on request.
Do the rooms have Wi-Fi?

Yes. Complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel, including every guest bedroom.
Do the rooms have tea and coffee making facilities?

Yes. Every bedroom includes complimentary tea and coffee making facilities, perfect for enjoying a hot drink before heading out for the day or relaxing after returning to the hotel.
Do your rooms have air conditioning?

As a traditional country house hotel, our bedrooms are not air conditioned. During warmer weather, fans are available on request and our team will be happy to assist wherever possible.
Are irons and ironing boards available?

Yes. All bedrooms have an iron and an ironing board for your convenience.
Are the rooms cleaned everyday?

Yes. Bedrooms are serviced daily by our housekeeping team to ensure they remain clean, comfortable and ready for you to enjoy throughout your stay.

Do I need to book a table for dinner?

While walk-ins are always welcome where availability allows, we highly recommend reserving a table in advance, particularly on Friday and Saturday evenings, Sundays and throughout the festive season.
The Tara restaurant is popular with both hotel residents and local guests, so booking ahead ensures you can relax and enjoy your meal at a time that suits you.
Can non-residents dine in The Tara Restaurant?

Absolutely.
Our restaurant welcomes everyone, whether you're staying overnight, meeting friends for lunch, celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for somewhere to enjoy excellent food with beautiful countryside views.
Many of our regular diners live locally and visit throughout the year for everything from casual lunches to Sunday roasts and Afternoon Tea.

Our menus celebrate the very best of British cooking, using quality seasonal ingredients sourced from trusted local suppliers wherever possible.
Our chefs take inspiration from the changing seasons, creating dishes that combine classic flavours with modern presentation, giving guests a dining experience that's both familiar and memorable.
Is breakfast included in my stay?

Breakfast is included with many of our direct booking packages and selected room rates.
If your rate doesn't include breakfast, you're very welcome to add it during your stay. Our Reception team will be happy to help.
What time is breakfast served?

Breakfast is served each morning in our restaurant overlooking the Gloucestershire countryside.
Current serving times are 7-9:30am Monday - Saturday and 8-10:00am Sundays.
Can non-residents join you for breakfast?

Is Hatton Court Hotel dog friendly?

Yes – four-legged guests are always welcome at Hatton Court.
We know dogs are part of the family, which is why we offer a selection of dog-friendly bedrooms. With beautiful countryside walks right on our doorstep, Hatton Court is the perfect base for exploring Gloucestershire together.
Is there a charge for bringing my dog?

Dog-friendly rooms are available for a small additional charge of £10 per pooch per night. The Pet Pass can be added to your booking at time of check out.
As not all of our guests are as keen on pets as others the charge accommodates the additional cleaning and sanitisation of the room once your stay has completed.
Which rooms are dog friendly?

All of our rooms are pet friendly.
Can dogs join us in the restaurant?

Dogs are welcome in designated public areas of the hotel.
If you'd like to dine with your dog, please speak to our team when booking your table and we'll advise on the most suitable seating area available.
Service dogs are of course welcome throughout the entire hotel.
Are there walks near Hatton Court?

Absolutely.
Hatton Court is surrounded by beautiful Gloucestershire countryside, making it an ideal destination for guests who enjoy walking. From gentle countryside strolls to longer routes across the Cotswolds, there are plenty of scenic walks to enjoy just moments from the hotel.
Do you provide water bowls for dogs?

Yes.
Fresh water is always available for visiting dogs, and our team will be happy to help with anything else your four-legged companion might need during their stay.
Please make sure to bring your own food bowl for your dogs use throughout their stay.
Are assistance or service dogs welcome?

Absolutely.
Registered assistance or service dogs are welcome throughout the hotel, including the restaurant and all public areas.

Is Hatton Court accessible?

We aim to make every guest feel welcome and comfortable during their visit.
As Hatton Court is a traditional country house hotel, some areas include steps and changes in level. If you have any accessibility requirements, we recommend contacting our team before booking so we can discuss your individual needs and advise on the most suitable room or event space.
Please note that there are no rooms on the ground floor of the hotel, however our lounge, marquee, restaurant, bar and terrace are all accessible.
Do you have accessible bedrooms?

All bedrooms are accessed via stairs and due to the age and nature of the building there are currently no lifts or stairs lifts to aid guests up to higher floors.
If you have further questions or need clarification on what rooms might be more suitable, please contact our central reservations team.
Is there a lift?

No.
Due to the age and character of the building, Hatton Court does not have a lift serving the guest bedrooms.
